Procrastination's a bitch

And yet I'm still doing it.

I have 17.5 hours left to write this English paper, but for some reason I'm terribly unstressed and not worried at all. It's a little distressing how unconcerned I am about this whole thing.

I've currently got almost 4 full pages, and I'm about to add onto something in the middle of all that - orthographic coding and spelling and such. I got a bit stuck on the 'learning disabilities' part, probably because I was trying to write it while Bayly was at the table with Anna and I. Of course nothing got done. I sorta stopped in the middle of a sentence and I have no idea where I was trying to go with it.

I got some stuff from Aunt Lynne about occupational therapy and such. I WAS SO HAPPY!! I should really go read those articles... I'm probably going to quote her a bit, and I asked her a couple questions that I'm waiting on responses for, which I kinda need for the next part of my paper. So I think I'm just waiting for her to get back to me.

Or maybe I just really really don't want to write this goddamn thing. That could be it.

I'm really happy, though, with my overall performance this semester and the progress I've made on all my other finals. I'm solid for a B in all 3 math classes, an A for textiles, likely a B for ceramics, an A in cinema, and as long as I don't completely bomb this paper at least a B but probably an A for English. I've finished my math final, I'm not worried about my cinema final. I finished glazing my stuff for ceramics, so that'll be done by Wednesday. I've done 6 scarves for textiles, and I'll get the other 4 done by Thursday evening, hopefully, and then I can spend the weekend thinking about how to present the damn things.

I AM UNSTOPPABLE!

And I just downloaded a really fantastically amusing and amazing FST. It's called "too sexy for your party," and it's for the Bad Touch Trio.
"Everybody" Backstreet Boys "The Bad Touch" Bloodhound Gang "Hips Don't Lie (cover)" The Fray "I'm Too Sexy" Right Said Fred "Highway to Hell" AC/DC "Daylight" Matt & Kim "Poker Face" Lady Gaga "Like A Boss" The Lonely Island "Stay Young" Oasis "Boys Don't Cry" The Cure "Love Machine" Arctic Monkeys "Fuck Her Gently" Tenacious D "All For Love" Bryan Adams

I'm listening to it to pump me up.

If my library wasn't so ginormous, I'd try to throw together a 'pump me up' playlist right now. I may just have to attempt a Genius concoction. It starts with "Daylight" and includes lots of Passion Pit, Cobra Starship, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Postal Service, and MGMT.

i feel like this is my mood right now... i'm hopped up on red bull, leemealone...

home again, home again, etc...

took the greyhound home yesterday for break. exciting, as usual. mom picked me up because dad was working and yasha was on his way to new york with heather for the tim burton exhibit. and everyone who knows him is incredibly jealous. i know i am...

anyway, everything has been going well so far. i brought up the unfortunate housing situation over dinner at red lobster, and when we got home i walled nicole. so i am confident we'll be living together next year, which should be fun. seriously, no sarcasm there. hopefully it'll all work out, seeing as we're both rather prone to add... we should probably start looking for places soon.

matt didn't get into college park, but he did get into cua and pitt. we're still waiting for umbc, and i forget what's up with vt.

dad's going to cali [i think] for the week for work. which sucks for family time, but means there's less people fighting over cars. at least i got to see him some before he left. he's taking a red eye back next sunday. i'm not sure what this means for transport back. i do want to come back saturday because i've gotta work on my silk painting. i need to have all the resisting done by class on monday.

i've got work to do over break, which is unfortunate. i have to work on my review of research paper for english and figure out how my actual paper is going down. i need to come up with ideas for quilt patterns, though that should be pretty easy. i have to do my math final, which i'm pretty sure is going to be some sort of narwhal tessellation. just because. and i may be working-working, though dan hasn't gotten back to me.

and i've got some half-baked [heh] plans for st patty's day with yasha. we're hanging out during the day, because he's got plans with heather for the evening/night. over im we proposed plans, which led to a really weird conversation involving cross-dressing [that's saved as a draft here so i can remember it forever], but i'm realizing i'm not sure exactly how the pre-plan is going to work out. he needs to acquire things. i hope he does. because yeah. [slightly related: i'm hoping 420 pans out for me as well...]

recently i broke down and downloaded a shit-ton of owl city. stupid fsts getting me interested in stuff i normally wouldn't be... like german industrial rock. and french rap - wait, that was jenny. anyway... yeah, i have owl city, which led to me breaking down and getting mgmt, because dammit, it's catchy. which reminded me to download matt & kim, even though they're not related to mgmt at all. oh, my musical escapades...

oh god, i almost started talking about this incredible fic i finished reading, but then i remembered exactly how incredibly inappropriate it is. because it really is. it makes me feel terrible and giddy at the same time, and i love it. grr. stupid guilty pleasures putting me on trains to hell...

uhh... i want to keep talking, but i have no idea what else to say...

well, i just finished blood-winged amazing story, "at the end of all things." and i'm terribly sad that it's over. wahhhh, i don't want it to be over! also, i want her to write more prucan, but that's really beside the point... i'm so sad, i'm rereading the whole thing. or i'm just really bored and craving me some prucan...

idek... pixiv is cool.

insurance?

just in case i suddenly just pass out, i want to say i took 2 melatonin pills. i don't expect it to make me just... fall over asleep, but i'm not sure what exactly will happen.

i've been having bouts of insomnia this past week, which really sucks, especially since i feel absolutely no urge to do my embroidery homework, which i'm worried i will get really behind on, or my annotated bibliographies, which i totally skipped on thursday. i did one, and decided, "fuck it, i'm sleeping through class."

and i accidentally hit the 'back' button and lost the paragraph i had written...

i need to get one shoe done in embroidery for class on monday so i don't fall behind and get totally screwed over for the crit. i've got over a week till the crit, and i'm surprised at how fast i'm going, but still. that would be just like me...

i did almost absolutely nothing today. i woke up at noon, got my bagel, crocheted some while reading fics and watching 'community.' i finally took a shower [since wednesday... eww...] around 8 so i could go out in public and have dinner with angela at chili's. which was fun and tasty. i ate all my food [except the over-herbed rice...] before angela. i was so proud! then i sat around some more and watched some more 'community' and did a little more embroidery. and yeah.

on the main com today i discovered the epic-ness that will be the canada-america men's hockey game tomorrow. even though i refresh the olympics main page obsessively every few hours, i missed that. i need to watch it. i set an alarm on my phone. it's happening.

oh yeah, the tegan and sara concert. i went with liz, laura, adrienne, and a couple other girls they knew that i met in line. my feet were frozen by the time the doors opened, and it wasn't even all that cold out. we ended up somewhat more forward than the middle. it wasn't too bad. though, there was someone near us that had gas literally the entire show. not cool. and i got pushed and ended up next to a crazy barely-teen fan. i seriously looked over at her more than a couple times and was convinced she would burst into tears of absolute joy. and she only knew songs from 'the con' and 'sainthood', which i found terribly sad. if you're such a crazy fan, learn all their songs. i knew most of the songs, except for a couple of the new ones because i just put my music on random and tune in occasionally.

i was excited to learn one of the openers was steel train. when i told matt he was incredibly jealous. they were pretty good live. i was happy they played a couple songs i knew ['firecracker' and 'kill monsters in the rain']. the other opener was holly miranda, who for some reason had their bass turned up more than you'd expect. the singer had a really nice voice though. i'd definitely check out their music.

as for t+s, i quite enjoyed the show. there wasn't as much banter as i was expecting, but they were still fun. they even did a few songs basically acoustic as a sort of encore, which i thought was really cool. they did 'back in your head' with guitar and xylophone, they styled the lighting of 'feel it in my bones' after the vid. overall, it was a good show.

i wonder if my seat number on my ticket, 39, indicates what number i was in purchasing my ticket... and if that shows how much of a nerd i can be... probably...

well, i need to get to bed if i intend to get up before noon and at least make an attempt at being productive. i'm determined to get a lot done on at least one shoe. i really am. movie marathon anyone?

no fics to report on today. i did find a good one today of a post-ww2 human!au though. germany/america, not something i'd read normally. but it was very good and had a hopeful ending.

OH MY FUCKING GOD LOST YOU ARE BLOWING MY MIND I CAN'T EVEN THINK AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

ahem

so. tonight we finally learned the meaning of the numbers. and the lists. and i flipped out.

not-locke takes sawyer to a cave in a cliff side [what an interesting trip that was, going down the cliff] to show him why he's on the island. written on the walls and ceiling of an inner cave are last names with numbers next to them. most of them are crossed out, except for 6. guess which 6. and next to those 6 are one of the numbers. jack was 23, sun and jin were 42 [it's by last name, so 2 for one], hurley was 8 [i think], sayid was 16, sawyer was 15, which leaves kate as 4. all the names are candidates for someone to replace jacob as the guru, now that he's dead.

i flipped the fuck out and started hyperventilating. total shock.

in other news!

i finally had to get a membership to mediafire so i could send fala 'boondock saints 2'. which, by the way, also had a "WTFAHHH" ending. because of fucking willem dafoe. he came back at the end, and it was open to a 3rd, if they so choose. the boys ended up in prison, but it looks like it'll be okay and not sucky and bitch-y and such, but smecker was talking about breaking them out or something. though, greenly and noah died, soo...

thursday is gonna be awesome. not the morning, but i don't count that. we start tessellations in math, which should be fun. and then. TEGAN AND SARA with STEEL TRAIN as one of the openers. YESSS!!!! excitement.

the fic-of-the-moment this time is from the USUK com by semebay, who wrote the epic canada-serial killer fill that i fell in love with. this is an AU with arthur as a recluse [sorta] who lives with the fae and sort-of[-but-not-really] controls them and who does random little magicks and herbal healing and just cool shit. and alfred is a semi-hero [he's got enhanced abilities] who keeps trying to be friends with arthur. and it's adorable at times, but dark and real. i love bay's voice and the way she writes arthur as a believable brit, not some american throwing in those random stereotypical words. fifteen chapters in and the fae have all escaped arthur's tenuous control and are wreaking havoc and killing people. cliffhanger: the last fae that still liked arthur has decided that alfred has to die since he was supposed to but arthur saved him and just GAHH.

thusly. [well, chapter 1. click 'next entry' for the next chapters]

olympics! germany is at the top right now with 9 medals, then america with 8, france with 7, canada with 5, and south korea with 4. both canadian hockey teams are kicking ass: the women whooped slovakia hard 18-0 a few days ago, switzerland yesterday 10-1, and the men just beat norway 8-0. is it weird that i'm cheering for canada more than america? sometimes i really wish i was canadian. i was practicing my accent at random times today. it was fun.

i decided to treat myself to some good quality bagels today. so i spent the rest of my birthday cash on a baker's dozen plus 2 tubs of cream cheese from panera. i can't wait! i made french toast for dinner. yummy cinnamon french toast.

my converse came for my embroidery project. they fit and all. i traced the open spaces on both so i know specifically how much i have to work with. i gridded my reference photos yesterday and will be gridding the print cloth and possibly the shoes [for placement purposes] tomorrow, along with at least laying out the large shapes. i am the master of the grid!

unrelated pic is unrelated. kinda. but mainly it's cute.

AMAZING

i found this fantastic mash-ups station on itunes radio. and it's been blowing my mind all day. seriously.

snowday today. when i left home for campus, it was just a tornado outside. i made it to the fab so i could at least check my email [it's doing that thing where it won't load on my laptop], and i was sitting in class, waiting for the crit, when debbie comes in and tells us campus is closed.

i was unhappy that i walked to class in that horrible white-out, only to be told, "nope, nevermind."

oh well. now i have time to figure out how exactly i'm gonna go about my embroidery final. which is hopefully gonna be awesome. i'm embroidering ansel adams photos onto a pair of white converse. i got a ton of floss in every shade i could find from black to white. some are brown-ish and some are blue-ish, but hopefully it won't be a big deal. i ordered the shoes monday, and they should be here this weekend. i really think it's gonna be awesome.

and i'm currently procrastinating on my annotated bibliographies. i finally finished one, after working on it since 5. i just started the second one, and then i got distracted [shocking, i know...] but this one is much shorter than the other one, so it should be easier. hopefully.

i still want there to be no class tomorrow morning, even though i know there will be.

there's over 4 feet of snow at home now. fucking whoa. no school for anyone - big surprise. i'm sad we don't have as much because connor figured out how to make elaborate tunnels in the snow and now i want to turn out back yard into a warren. but that's a lot of missed class, and a lot of snow that just won't leave. seriously, it just keeps snowing. today was the fourth major snowfall this winter: before christmas, the last weekend of january, the weekend of my birthday, and today. and it's supposed to snow again monday. snow is awesome and all, but i think everyone is really sick of it by now.

in other news, i finally gave in and started reading "seven little killers." i've got some theories, but who knows. i'm almost completely sure america is one of the killers, thanks to hoogily spoiling things, and i'm fairly confident canada is one too. possibly hungary, but that's just random speculation. i really like how each chapter is named after a serial killer. i've got a wiki tab open next to the fic so i can learn about the featured killer with each chapter.

relevant pic is relevant! i swear! it's by hoogily...
yayyy prucan!

music fiend!

lately i've been more actively thinking about my attempts at making an fst. i've been sorta collecting random songs from "my music" [as in, not from any other fst's] for the past month or two, and i've noticed a slight pattern to them: they're either indie or classic rock.

so my new goal is to create 2, with those as guidelines. i've got a fair list going in total:

"Skipping Hearts" MR RUSSIA [belarus]
"Stuck on Repeat" Little Boots [pre-revolution]
"shoulders" 13ghosts [canada]
"Billy Brown" Mika [england, due to a fic...]
"One Week" Barenaked Ladies [2 nations fighting]
"The Boys Are Too Refined" the Hush Sound [girls]
"Wine In the Afternoon" Franz Ferdinand [drunk arthur]
"Lumberjack Song" Monty Python [canada]
"Where Did Our Love Go" the supremes [post-revolution]
"Backstabber" dresden dolls [angry!revolutionary!england]
"Womanizer" franz ferdinand [france]
"Let Me In" siriusmo [belarus]
"Le Disko" Shiny Toy Guns [all the girls]
"Magazine" millimeters mercury [america]
"fortunate Son" CCR [america]
"Brand New Day" NPH [cold war america]
"We Didn't Start the Fire" Billy Joel [everyone]
"Angel of Mercy" Shy Child [everyone]
"When I Was a Boy" The How [colonial!america]
"Ballroom Blitz" Sweet [meetings]
"Legend of Zelda Theme" System of a Down [america]
"Changes (Borderline Remix)" Tahiti 80 [prussia]
"Fashion" Rogue Traders [poland]
"Filthy/Gorgeous" Scissor Sisters [poland]
"Farm Land" The Never [austria & hungary]
"Guitar vs Piano" Gokusan [prussia & austria]
"Let's Go To The Mall" Robin Sparkles [temporarily-canadian-poland]
"Letter From God to Man" Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip [everyone sorta]

i have a feeling the indie one is going to work out better [and faster] so i started actively looking for songs by little-known artists. which reminded me that i should really check out 3hive again...

as far as the indie one goes i've got:

"Skipping Hearts" MR RUSSIA [belarus]
"Stuck on Repeat" Little Boots [pre-revolution]
"shoulders" 13ghosts [canada]
"The Boys Are Too Refined" the Hush Sound [girls]
"Wine In the Afternoon" Franz Ferdinand [drunk arthur]
"Womanizer" franz ferdinand [france]
"Let Me In" siriusmo [belarus]
"Le Disko" Shiny Toy Guns [all the girls]
"Magazine" millimeters mercury [america]
"Brand New Day" NPH [cold war america]
"Angel of Mercy" Shy Child [everyone]
"When I Was a Boy" The How [colonial!america]
"Changes (Borderline Remix)" Tahiti 80 [prussia]
"Fashion" Rogue Traders [poland]
"Farm Land" The Never [austria & hungary]
"Guitar vs Piano" Gokusan [prussia & austria]
"Let's Go To The Mall" Robin Sparkles [temporarily-canadian-poland]
"Letter From God to Man" Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip [everyone sorta]

with "Legend of Zelda Theme" System of a Down [america] as a bonus.

i'm still determined to find at least one t&s song that fits somewhere. i can't use "come on" because i found that one in a liet/pol one. but i can't figure out how to make the song i really want to work ["feel you in my bones"].

i decided that for a cover i was going to futz with a photo i had. so i surfed my belle isle album for things that would be ambiguous and clever and 'indie' and edited them in picnik.

9 so far. multiples of some. once i figure out the specific songs and how to zip/rar the folder up and such, i can title it and add the title to one of the images.

in other news, yasha turned 20 today. scary. he was going to celebrate at bourbon street, and something about me needing a dress and getting me hooked up with some chick... idk. but anyway, that fell through and instead he's having a get together tomorrow afternoon at his house. i think that's much better, especially considering my recent revelation.

thing is, christian is going to be there.

and i haven't seen or talked to him since we broke up in august.

yasha says he says he's fine with it, and i hope so. i know i'm going to be awkward for a bit because i just am. but i really do want him to be okay with it, because i still feel bad about the whole thing. mainly because of my recent revelation. i finally figured out why specifically i was uncomfortable with it, aside from him being in love with me and me not. well, the two are connected.

so yeah, i'm nervous about it. i want it to work out. i don't want to ruin yasha's party with our issues. i'm hoping i get there before he does, or at least that we don't get there at the same time...

today was my last day of work. it was a pretty good day, considering it was also payday. yayy! my before-tax total was $666, which i laughed at, but i got $615 out of it - even with my exemptions. stupid medicare and social security... but in addition to that i ended up winning My Oh My and a $25 gift card. My Oh My is basically all the department heads getting together and deciding which employee was the most involved and helpful and all around best for the week. i'm slightly surprised i won, but not really. i wasn't even aware of how the winner was picked until mom told me. i know ellie and dan had been very glad i was there. i really helped wellness get things straightened and able to hire a 'real' employee. i did the grunt stocking work to the regular people could focus on the customers and the busy work. it was hard - my back was not very forgiving - but it worked out well.

and i added to my repertoire of skills at MOMs.

i spent my $25 on some omega-dha pills to help with my add, a delicious chocolate protein drink [mmm odwalla] and an amazing raspberry blood orange. god, that's my new favorite fruit. it wasn't as sour as oranges [and especially blood oranges] are, and you could taste the raspberry right at the end. amazing. i might have to get mom to stop by saturday when we go back to rva so i can grab 6 and bring them back with me. i know ces wants to try one.

anyway, i think i'm going to go to bed now.

oh! i just remembered an awesome thing i discovered about vista yesterday. when i have 4 firfox windows and 8 apps open in my bottom bar and vista compresses the 4 firefox tabs into one, i can right click it and tell it to display all stacked. and then i've got all 4 in quadrants in my screen. they're tiny, but that's okay. when i need to access one i just fullsize it.

and i found the most amazing fill ever on the kink meme. the prompt was something about canada being killed by a serial killer and how being a nation plays into that and the awesome twin-ness between him and america. and at first i thought it was going to be dark and depressing - actually it totally is for the first 20 or so parts - and i didn't want to read it. but then i did and it's fantastic. it really is. even though it is depressing and crazy and it just doesn't matter. it's over here.

okay, bed for real now.

meme!

i got bored and found this meme in my dA watchers list. my answers:
1- twenty i have no idea what that is... something to do with ww2...]
2- glasgow, scotland!
3- bed [that's a pretty sweet bed, btw]
4- tea
5- shrimp scampi
6- lolcats
7- green [that woman is kinda terrifying...]
8- bawlmer, merlin, hon!
9- rva
10- abigail [breslin]
11- emily [strange]
12- yoshi! [i hope he doesn't get offended lol]
13- jellybean [though only my parents call me that]
14- eleanor [mustang... which i'm starting to kinda want...]
15- geneva [switzerland]
16- fisher [otter?]
17- internet...
18- cheese cutter [seriously.]
19- nancy
20- fiber arts
tag- i hate my touch pad...

btw, work was long and sucky today. it's supposed to snow some tonight, and dan predicted we'd get a lot of business today as a result of everyone in baltimore running around and freaking out. it was true... those last 2 hours, which i think were technically overtime, were brutal... i crashed in the car ride home. seriously. i vaguely remember mom getting out at bob's for her part, and then we were at berrymans and reisterstown and i had no idea how we even got there.

last night i was watching part of the 25th anniversary concert for the rock and roll hall of fame. the general format is one band sets up and does a song or two, they have several random guests come out and join them for other songs, and repeat. almost everyone was an inductee [fergie and will.i.am certainly aren't]. aretha franklin had just finished singing with annie lennox. that was cool i guess [honestly i fast forwarded through it...]. the next band out, though, was metallica, just inducted this past year. and one of their 'guests' was ozzy. and i was amazed at that whiplash genre change. seriously.

i felt kinda bad fast forwarding through so much. i felt like it was my history in a weird way, and i was being disrespectful by skipping huge chunks. then again, the whole thing was over 4 hours long, with no commercials. there's no way i'm sitting through all that.

16 September 2009

super-special music surprise!

cesley and liz attempting to play "simple and clean" on piano and guitar [respectively] while nicole tries to sing.

i promised them i wouldn't post this on facebook, so i'm posting it here because it's too awesome not to put somewhere. also, i just remembered youtube, but i won't subject them to such wide-spread humiliation.

this is the continued fun of cesley's 19th birthday. bayly made cupcakes!

muuuuuusic

so, i've been back for all of 2 hours, and i've got so much new music to listen to.

i hopped over to 3hive for some of their new stuff, and got distracted by their blurb on millimeters mercury, which led me to their site and the various spin-off bands and friend-bands. i need to listen to it alllllllllllllll.

new additions:
- Cola Wars
- O + S
- Wavves
- Coltrane Motion
- Bitter Tea for Breakfast
- the 68s

i think that's all i'll do for now... since there's 2 albums worth of music for bitter tea. awesome.

shit, i really need to write that paper......................................

nick and norah

so, i just got back from seeing 'nick and norah's infinite playlist' at the commons, and i really miss yasha.

it kinda sucks...

so, basically, nick and norah, among other things, end up driving all over new york listening to awesome music. and that's basically me and yasha, except, you know, in baltimore and the 'burbs, but whatever.

and as we were walking back to the dorm, i really just wanted to go driving with him. right then. no matter that it was 10:30 at night and he was almost 200 miles away. i just really wanted to. i'm still going through some serious yasha-withdrawals. and yeah, it does suck.

cuz i've done nothing today except sit in the dorm and watch things on a laptop. i watched, like, 3 episodes of 'monk' and 2 episodes of 'how i met your mother' and then i watched the last half of 'step brothers' in anna's room. i've got nothing to do with my life right now, and it's just bugging me. i felt really lame today, since i was doing abslutely nothing. i didn't even really eat out. i got a bagel to go for breakfast, ate that salmon pouch for lunch, and got subway on the way back from bubble tea [man, how i missed bubble tea!] which i proceeded to eat during scrabble in the alcove.

so. i'm not sure this is homesickness, per se, just missing-yasha-ness. yeah, i've got that bad...

man, i really wanna drive dover now! why does this suck?

maybe it has something to do with his birthday [that i missed] on wednesday, and the fact that no one told me what happened. well, he gave me a short overview: the surprise, watched 'pineapple express', played twister... but that's not enough for me. i still haven't seen any pictures up yet... and i was promised a ton of those from both jo and brit.

although, griping and blogging about this is only making it worse. and now i feel really bad...

ugh, reminds me of when he was doing all that fun stuff over the summer and i was being mopey and unpleasant...

critique musings

[actually written october 27]
I don't know why, but I'm feeling very... introspective, I guess, right now. Maybe it has to do with Airlie's video. Of course, as usual, I have no idea what I want to say.

I'm very sleepy... Maybe that has something to do with my mood.

I'm just a slave to it all. Get rich, stay kitch, give me another hit.
--
Fashion is the only cure. It always leaves you wanting more.

--
So far there are 37 pages with drawings on them, 24 blank pages, and the rest have writing on them. Course, some of the drawing pages also have writing... Then there's all those passes... Aw, there's only four. I thought there were more
--
I just remembered a thought I had a few years ago. About me and rain. I think it was in middle school when I noticed that my creative [and mainly writing] mind was most active when it rains. And something about Seattle and how I couldn't deal with all the rain I'm convinced happens there.
--
I've totally got that song stuck in my head, "Fashion" by Rogue Traders.
--
This has been one of the longest breaks in Time studio ever! It's probably because David's doing some grade thing... Which I really should do, but I can't bring myself to care enough.

Briana and Rachel are on their phones, Anna's on Facebook, Cheryl is reading a book, Airlie is just sorta sitting there, as is that new guy [whose name I can never remember - oh! Melvin!]. And now there's a conversation about whether your brain is intestines or not...

Oh, I think we're finally gonna start now.
--
Leaning up against the wall is Becca, Corey, Jenna, Airlie, Kristin, Anna, me, Cheryl, and Rachel. On the other side of the projector is Stephen, Gwenyth, George, Melvin, and Briana. Pacing in th middle is David. We're having a crit. My back hurts, and I'm incredibly bored... hence all this writing, which is now on its third page.

Mmmm, music. On my iTunes I have exactly 1700 songs right now. That's almost all my music... I know there's 5 albums not there because I took them off [the 3 LotR soundtracks, 300, Master&Commander], though I do still have the CDs. I don't think I put Ultimate Funk on, or that CD I half stole from Yasha when I was home last.

My music is so spread out! Physically, I mean. All 1700 songs are on 6 data discs, 74 CDs, a 4gig flash drive, with plenty only on my laptop or still stuck on my shuffle since I still refuse to sync it with my new iTunes.

It's all pretty ridiculous...

weekend!

Angela brought back the first season of Supernatural for me to watch. I've been doing that... and some of them are really fricking scary. Like, no kidding.

So, I'm taking a break from the scaryness to do this! Yay! I think I'm gonna go read US of Angel 2 again, and counteract the terrifying almost-reality with some sex. Yes.

Anyway, this weekend is gonna be fun. As soon as my doctor stuff is done with, anyway...

Man, it's really annoying and hard to get VCU to write my prescriptions. I really should have done this, like, 2 weeks ago. I went for one appointment, and it turns out they can't prescribe until they get my records of the meds and I get re-evaluated to make sure I still have it. I'll be scheduling that test tomorrow, when I call the VCU Psychology people back. And then at 2 I've got another appointment with Dr Chen about... some stuff... I have no idea.

BUT, after all that, THE FUN SHALL BEGIN!

At 9 tomorrow night is a Rocky Horror Picture Show screening! Party-tastic! I'm thinking of going to the virgin intro thing at 8:30, mainly to make sure I've got the necessary props. There's a costume contest, and if I had been thinking when I was home last weekend, I'd have grabbed my corset and dressed as Columbia. But it's too late now, so I'll just dress weird. That should be good, right?

Saturday shall have more fun! It's the Richmond Zombie Walk! I'm being a zombie rocker, since I brought my mystical plaid pants back. I just need costume blood, since I don't think my acrylic or gouache will wash out of clothes. Nicole and I are going to a costume/party store on Cary street tomorrow to get stuff for the zombie walk, like fake blood and latex stuff for grisly gross-ness. Awesome.

And Sunday will be boring. Yay? Not...

Oh, I'm working on a new book - this time for SR. I'm being crazy-specific with it, like I was with the Studio book last year. So far it's working well, since I've had even more time to figure my way through bookmaking and my specific techniques. I got Mod Podge and matt board. Oh yeah. You know I'm serious.

But, yeah. The book is supposed to be used for information on our top 3 major choices, but I have no real idea what that really means we have to do. She kept talking about visiting our majors and doing sketches or whatever while there, which means I can't just puruse the websites... I probably will anyway, and I guess I should go to the departments and stuff... Or at least email someone and ask questions. I feel weird about just going into the rooms for the majors, since I'm not in them...

Anyway, I've got time to figure my way through that.

Oh! And I finally got my laptop back! It's so nice to have all my music again. I've got even more since I got stuff from Jenny, Angela, and Cesley. I'm up to 1676 songs and an episode of Torchwood.
